2022 Summer Reading Program

June 7- July 30
Children ages 0-12 can participate in the Children's Summer Reading Program. Throughout the summer kids keep track of the books they read or listen to and receive prizes for the time that they read. This program also features weekly activities for the whole family including storytimes, crafts and magicians. All programs and activities are completely free of charge. Ina & Chazz, Storytelling Drum Circle

Wednesday, July 13, 3 p.m. at the Langley Senior Center
Ina & Chazz present a storytelling drum circle with movement games and world rhythms using Djembe drums! This program is for all ages and no registration is required. This program is made possible thanks to the generous support of the Friends of the Monterey Park Library.

End of Summer Family Pool Party

Friday, July 29, 12-2 p.m. at the George Elder Pool
Wrap up your summer with some fun in the sun! Bring your swimsuits and towels for a get together for the whole family. All ages are welcome. No registration is required; however, attendance is limited so plan to arrive on time.

Crafternoons

Thursdays at 3 p.m. in the Friends Room
Beat the heat with an afternoon craft! All materials will be provided.

Family Storytime

Tuesdays & Saturdays at 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. in the Storytime Room
Family Storytime is for all ages. Featured stories vary in length, some encourage active listening while others invite participation. Caregivers must attend and are expected to participate and model good listening skills for their children.

Baby & Toddler Storytime

Thursdays at 10 a.m. in the Storytime Room
Designed for parents and caregivers to attend with their children, Baby Storytime includes short books, music, and nursery rhymes. These programs last about 20-25 minutes. Each baby must be accompanied by a caregiver. Baby Storytime is for children under three years of age.
