The Monterey Park Fire Department is pleased to announce a new program targeting assistance to all residents with medical related questions or concerns. This program is called H.O.M.E. which stands for Home Options Medical Education. This exciting program will give citizens an opportunity to obtain answers or receive direction to such topics as nursing care in the home, finding resources for social services programs, assistance in retirement home options or assisted living arrangements, and many more non-emergency medical issues.
Members of the Fire Department, along with the department's nurse educator, will come to your home when requested and will work with you in obtaining the best possible outcome for providing a safe and secure living situation, relative to your health. It is important to note that this is not intended to replace the Fire Department emergency response capabilities, but merely to enhanced the after-care service that will better aid the residents in making sound health decisions.
