Safe Kids Program

The Monterey Park Fire Department is dedicated to provide information to our citizens and the public on how to keep our children safe.

Safe Kids Worldwide is an organization whose sole purpose is to help prevent injuries to children. The Monterey Park Fire Department is part of the Los Angeles Safe Kids Coalition. There are over 600 coalitions throughout the United States.

School Programs

Fire Station Tour
You can schedule a station tour for your classroom. You will get a brief presentation about daily firefighter activities and see where firefighters live and eat. Participants will also get to see the fire apparatus, such as the fire engine, Quint (truck) and the tools and equipment carried on them.

School Visits/Presentations
Schools can call to schedule a fire apparatus to visit your local school. Students can get a first-hand view of the fire apparatus up close and hear about specific safety presentations.

Career Days
You can schedule a fire crew to come to your school for a Career Day event. We can let the students know what it takes to become a Monterey Park Firefighter!
