Memorial Day is a day we honor America’s men and women who served their county and gave the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy each day. Each Memorial Day at 10:00 a.m., the City of Monterey Park and American Legion Post 397 hosts a ceremony at the American Legion (318 S. Ramona Ave). For more information, please contact Recreation and Community Services at recreation@montereypark.ca.gov or 626-307-1388.
On September 11, at 8:30 am, the City of Monterey Park hosts a Patriot Day ceremony in front of City Hall in remembrance of all the lives lost and affected by the tragic events that occurred on September 11, 2001. Each year members of the Monterey Park Police and Fire Departments share stories remembering who lost their lives on that day as we are reminded to "Never Forget Their Stories."
Veterans Day
Each year on November 11 the City of Monterey Park and American Legion Post 397 host a ceremony honoring American veterans of all wars. We celebrate America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of the country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.
