Construction Inspection

Construction Inspection Information

Work for which a permit is required must be inspected by the city in accordance with Section 110 of the California Building Standards Code as amended by the City of Monterey Park. Items listed on the job-site Inspection Card are intended as a guide to help you understand when an inspection is required. If there is any doubt about whether an inspection is required, please contact the Building Division or speak to a building inspector.

Special Inspections

In addition to city inspections, continuous or periodic Special Inspections are required per Section 110.3.9 and Section 1704. The special inspector must be pre-qualified by the Building Official and registered with the city before performing any inspection in this jurisdiction.
