The Monterey Park Police Department is a diverse work force reflecting the demographics of our community. This allows us to recognize and address various issues that exist in our many different neighborhoods. Through our staff, of whom many are bilingual, our open communications network with our community is achieved in a variety of forms, including programs such as Neighborhood Watch, Business Watch, Citizen Patrol, Police Reserves, and Explorers.

Technology

The Monterey Park Police Department is proud of the fact that we have always been on the cutting edge of technology. Advances in the application of computers, communication systems, radios, weaponry, and other emerging technologies assist us in effectively caring out our duties.

Staff

Today, with the authorized strength of 75 sworn officers, all officers proudly wear the badge of the Monterey Park Police Department. The men and women patrol the City in police cars, motorcycles, and bicycles, and are supported by helicopter service. The Department is also supported by over 80 civilian and volunteer personnel.
