Star Parties at the Garvey Ranch Park Observatory
On October 4, bring the whole family to the Garvey Ranch Park Observatory to pick up a pair of free eclipse glasses, sign up for a Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library card, enjoy a craft and view the stars with LAAS. On October 11, representatives from various City departments will join the star party to provide family friendly activities and giveaways. Eclipse glasses are available while supplies last.

A History of Solar Eclipses
Join retired physicist Tim Thompson from the Los Angeles Astronomical Society for a discussion on solar eclipses on Tuesday, October 3 at 6 p.m. in the Friends Room. This program is recommended for astronomy fans of all ages. Free eclipse glasses will be available to program attendees on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
