Street Rehabilitation at Various Locations

The project consists of the removal of existing pavement and the application of Asphalt Rubber Hot Mix and AC Overlay on various city streets within the southwest side of the city. This project will also include concrete work such as replacement of sidewalk, curb ramps, curb and gutter. 

Impacted residents may experience temporary traffic control devices, lane closures, detours, parking enforcement and temporary limited driveway access. The Location Map shows the street segments included in the street rehabilitation project.

2022 Slurry Seal Project

As part of the City of Monterey Park's ongoing capital improvements to street maintenance, the 2022 Slurry Seal Project is scheduled to begin the week of July 18, 2022. 

This project will enhance the appearance and drivability of the street and will protect the base of the roadway from water damage and weathering as well as minimize the aging of the existing road and correct raveling and any other defects caused by weather elements. Southern California Edison Pole Replacement

The City of Monterey Park is excited to announce that Southern California Edison (SCE) is replacing SCE owned, old steel streetlight poles with new concrete poles and light fixtures. 

SCE’s contractors, SASCO, will replace approximately 953 existing poles through July 2022. SCE’s contractors will notify residents when construction is to begin in their specific area. For more information, contact SCE’s representative at 714-796-9869, see SCE Notification flyer.

N. Atlantic Boulevard Sewer Main Improvements

Sewer improvements on N. Atlantic Blvd from Hellman to Garvey, and on Garvey Ave from Atlantic to Ynez will be constructed late spring through summer. Construction is scheduled to continue through Fall 2022.

Traffic lanes on Atlantic and on Garvey will be impacted during daytime hours with at least one lane open in each direction of travel.   Some driveway access within the construction zone may be temporarily interrupted during working hours. 

Sewer improvements are planned to include replacement of sewer mains, primarily along N Atlantic Blvd and Garvey Ave. to increase future sewer needs along the corridor.  The final design includes 2,100 feet of new 12-inch sewer main on Atlantic and 1,600 feet of 16 &18-inch sewer main along Garvey Ave. Location Map
