Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Clinic
Beginning January 18- April 11
Mondays 12:30- 6:30 p.m.
Thursdays 10:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Individuals or families whose income is less than $63,500 are invited to participate in Chinatown Service Center’s free Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Clinic. This program helps U.S. residents or legal Green Card holders prepare their 2023 federal and state income tax returns. Services are by appointment only. Haven Neighborhood Services will present VITA clinics on Saturdays. This service helps low-to moderate-income individuals, persons with disabilities, the elderly and limited-English speakers file their taxes each year. Tax preparation services will be conducted in Spanish, English and Mandarin. For more information about the program or to register, call Adult Services. .

Did you know that the Library offers free 3D printing services? Learn how to create your own 3D printing file using the Tinkercad online modeling program and have it printed at the Library for free! Free Legal Assistance Clinic

Volunteer attorneys will be on hand to answer questions at the free legal assistance clinic sponsored by the Asian Pacific American Bar Association (APABA) and Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Southern California (AJSOCAL). Attorneys will answer questions about immigration, criminal law, civil matters, estate planning, government benefits, labor and employment. Registration is required. Celebrate National Potato Chip Day with a fascinating talk about local business icon, Laura Scudder, and a delectable session of potato chip tasting! In the 1920s, Scudder defied convention by turning a simple potato chip into a million-dollar empire. The talk will be presented by Emmy-nominated TV writer/producer Ellen Sandler who wrote an article on Scudder for The Food Journal of the Culinary Historians of Southern California.
