MPK Transit Express
Ride Fees Effective September 10, 2025
As of September 10, 2025, rides on MPK Transit Express will $2 per trip. Residents can book their rides through the Via app or by calling Customer Support at (626) 606-2679. Payment options are simple: keep a card on file with Via for seamless trips, purchase vouchers at the Langley Senior Center, available in $2, $12, and $20 increments, or call Customer Support to pay for a ride using a debit/credit card.

Commute, run errands, and more with MPK Transit Express, Monterey Park's new shared microtransit service.
Rides are only $2 each. Service will operate Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The changes are part of a one-year pilot program. For more information, please visit the MPK Transit Express website.
Holiday hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and observed on Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day. MPK Transit Express is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.
How does it work? 
- Anyone within the service zone, which entails most of Monterey Park’s city limits, can book an affordable shared ride by app (available in the App Store or Google Play) or by calling 626-606-2679.
- Once a rider books a trip, Via’s technology matches other people heading in the same direction into one shared vehicle – creating quick and efficient trips that provide more flexibility than traditional public transit.
How to book a ride with the app:
- Create an account: Download the MPK Transit Express app and follow the simple signup steps.
- Book your ride: Enter your pickup and drop-off addresses, then choose the ride option that works best for you by tapping Book This Ride.
- Meet your driver: We'll assign you a “virtual bus stop” (typically the nearest corner) for pickup and drop-off, which helps avoid detours and keeps the ride moving quickly for everyone. Check the app to find out exactly where it is. Wheelchair accessible vehicles and door-to-door service are available for riders with mobility needs.
