Nominations for the 2024 Tree Memorial Award are accepted February 1 - February 29. The Tree Memorial Award was created to recognize individuals who have made a significant positive impact on the community. Nominees are long-term residents (10 years or more) and have provided a service benefit to the community as a whole.
This prestigious award is reserved for an individual who has demonstrated the highest level of community involvement and can be awarded to a person living or deceased. An ad hoc committee of Community Participation and Recreation and Park Commissioners will review nominations.
The committee will make their recommendation to the Monterey Park City Council. Following City Council approval, a recognition ceremony will take place, honoring the individuals with plaques installed under designated trees.
Groups or individuals who wish to nominate an individual must complete the application process.
The deadline for submission of the application and all materials is Thursday, February 29, 2024, by 5:30 pm.
